While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .

The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and neglected washrooms polluted the entire pub. Smelling a mixture of urine , a rotting odor and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and refuse that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even a more revolting state —overflowing , with a broken handle and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human excrement .

Going through other patrons’ reviews and chatting with the community, it seems that the standard of sanitation (or lack thereof) at this bar is a well-known flaw . Many patrons have reported spotting critters darting across the counter and signs of rats in the bar and house area . His presence at the bar often felt more like that of a predatory presence than a genial proprietor .
